Position Overview
We are hiring dependable and clinically capable Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) to deliver high-quality pre-hospital care and safe patient transport. In this role, you will evaluate patient needs, provide appropriate medical interventions, and ensure secure transportation to healthcare facilities. The position requires sound judgment, composure under pressure, and effective communication with both patients and medical teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond efficiently to dispatched service calls, primarily focused on inter-facility transports
- Evaluate patient status and determine appropriate care actions
- Provide basic life support services, including CPR and use of cardiac monitoring equipment
- Administer medications and treatments as authorized by medical direction
- Conduct patient assessments and obtain relevant medical histories
- Transport patients safely to hospitals, clinics, or other care facilities
- Relay clear and accurate patient information to nurses, physicians, and receiving facilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain medical and transport equipment
- Offer reassurance and emotional support to patients and family members during stressful situations
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Prior EMT or related clinical experience is strongly preferred
- Experience with medication administration and injections
- Understanding of emergency department and hospital workflows
- Knowledge of human physiology and common medical terminology
- Physical ability to lift, move, and assist patients safely
- Confidence using medical devices such as oxygen delivery systems and defibrillators
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress environments
- Familiarity with infection control and aseptic techniques
Qualifications
- Active EMT certification (required)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Airway management competency
- Patient assessment and care experience
- Valid driver’s license
- Paramedic license (preferred but not required)
- Background in critical care or specialty transport is a plus
- Familiarity with urgent care and emergency room settings
Employment Details
- Job Type: Full-time or Part-time
- Hourly Pay: $24.00 – $25.00
- Expected Hours: Up to 40 per week
