Overview

Key Responsibilities Provide exceptional patient care that aligns with DCAS Clinical Practice Guidelines at the Emergency Medical Technician level. Carry out all responsibilities with a focus on safety, confidentiality, and professionalism while prioritizing patient welfare at all times. Apply established procedures, protocols, and operational manuals to make sound clinical decisions regarding patient treatment. Mentor and guide newly hired EMT personnel during field orientation, offering support and encouragement throughout their transition. Demonstrate ongoing proficiency in all clinical skills and medication administration as outlined in the DCAS EMT Skills and Medication Matrix. Assume primary responsibility for patient management when senior-level personnel are unavailable. Ensure the ambulance cabin, medical equipment, and all contents are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected at shift commencement and following each patient transport, adhering to occupational health and safety protocols. Required Qualifications Education and Certification Hold an internationally or nationally recognized academic diploma in Emergency Medical Services OR a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Possess a valid DCAS Emergency Medical Technician license (national graduates may be exempt from this requirement). Maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and trauma certification (PHTLS or ITLS). Professional Experience Candidates with a bachelor’s degree in nursing must have a minimum of 2 years of ambulance experience OR 3 years of experience in an emergency department or intensive care unit (Emirati candidates are exempt from this requirement). International applicants holding an academic diploma in Emergency Medical Services must have two years of ambulance operations experience (national graduates are exempt from this requirement).
