Job Title: Part-Time EMT Instructor
Campus: Plainfield
Department: Practical Nursing & Allied Health

This role involves delivering Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) instruction as assigned by the EMT Program Coordinator. The instructor is responsible for teaching designated course components while supporting program goals and maintaining academic and professional standards.


Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned course content in alignment with approved syllabi and instructional schedules

  • Use varied teaching strategies, instructional technologies, and alternative learning methods when appropriate

  • Attend and conduct all scheduled class sessions

  • Notify the Program Director promptly of any absences

  • Collaborate with the Program Coordinator on curriculum updates and course development when requested

  • Integrate respect for cultural diversity, varied lifestyles, and global perspectives into instruction

  • Participate in scheduled program and departmental meetings

  • Prepare in advance to ensure required classroom tools and equipment are available

  • Maintain professional conduct and instructional standards

  • Follow all institutional policies and procedures


Education & Certification Requirements

  • Must hold the appropriate EMT Instructor certification or licensure as required by the New Jersey Department of Health – Office of Emergency Medical Services (OEMS)


Experience Requirements

  • Proven expertise in the subject area

  • Demonstrated instructional or teaching ability

Physical Demands & Work Environment

  • Duties are primarily performed in indoor instructional or campus environments

  • Occasional lifting or movement of items weighing up to 25 pounds

  • Minimal exposure to physical hazards

  • Some travel may be required


Employment Terms

  • Flexible scheduling based on departmental needs

  • Evening, weekend, or extended hours may be required

  • Ability and willingness to travel to on- and off-campus locations on short notice

  • Employees must establish New Jersey residency within one year of hire, unless an approved exemption applies
