Overview
Gulf Coast Spine is seeking a licensed medical professional to join our rapidly expanding minimally invasive spine surgery clinic. This role supports overall patient care, ensures smooth clinic operations, and contributes to a patient-centered environment. The responsibilities outlined below may be modified as operational needs evolve.
Key Responsibilities

Enter patient forms and information accurately into the clinic system

Process FMLA paperwork promptly

Prepare H&P packets for upcoming patient appointments

Complete MRI authorizations in a timely manner
-
Manage and distribute the daily fax folder
-
Prioritize, complete, or reassign tasks as necessary
-
Respond to patient phone calls in a professional and timely manner
-
Check patients in and out before and after appointments
-
Perform EKGs and record patient vitals
-
Scan and maintain patient records
-
Review and update the upcoming week’s schedule
-
Assist clinic staff and support office operations as needed
-
Travel between office locations when required
-
Work collaboratively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure quality patient care

Other duties as assigned, including NTIAs
Education & Certifications
-
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
-
BLS Certification required
-
Certified Medical Assistant preferred
-
Valid Florida medical license
-
EMT or previous Medical Assistant experience is a plus
Experience & Requirements

Minimum 1 year of relevant medical or call center experience preferred

1–2 years of customer service experience required

Familiarity with medical terminology preferred

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities

Attention to detail and thoroughness in all tasks

Competence in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and other relevant technical tools
Knowledge & Skills

Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare practices

Knowledge of legal and ethical standards for patient information

Familiarity with patient counseling, conflict resolution, and customer service principles

Experience with insurance verification and eligibility processes

Ability to operate and navigate electronic medical record (EMR) systems

Skilled at handling multiple tasks simultaneously with diplomacy and professionalism

Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and team members via phone, in-person, and email

Resolve patient concerns with leadership and tact

Build and maintain relationships with diverse patients and staff

Work under pressure and maintain composure in a fast-paced environment

Travel between clinic locations when necessary
Physical Requirements

Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and move frequently for 6–8 hours per day

Occasionally lift up to 50 pounds when assisting patients

Maintain physical endurance and proper body mechanics for patient care tasks
