Title: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

Job Summary:
The EMT is responsible for maintaining a safe, enjoyable, and secure environment for both guests and team members at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel. This role provides emergency care within the limits of certification and continues until relieved by EMS personnel. The EMT also participates in safety patrols and promptly reports any hazardous conditions. The role is an active member of the property’s Safety Team.
Key Responsibilities:

Support and uphold the company’s mission, values, and ethical standards in alignment with Caesars Entertainment’s Code of Commitment.

Respond to emergencies, providing first aid and basic life-saving interventions to guests and staff within the limits of EMT certification. Coordinate patient transport when necessary.

Maintain departmental service standards as outlined in SOPs.
-
Collaborate with security, surveillance, and EMS teams to ensure a coordinated response.

Conduct patrols in parking areas, back-of-house (BOH), and front-of-house (FOH), reporting any unsafe conditions.

Submit work orders for hazard remediation.

Document safety, OSHA, and liability incidents thoroughly.

Handle collection, logging, and disposal of medications safely.

Conduct daily inspections of EMS equipment, including oxygen tanks and AEDs, ensuring proper storage and cleanliness.

Maintain accurate medical supply inventories and replace sharps containers as needed.

Advise guests and staff to seek professional medical attention when appropriate; no medical recommendations or prescriptions are provided.

Prepare and submit thorough reports and documentation for all incidents and medical calls.

Assist with investigations involving employee injuries, guest incidents, or property damage.

Participate actively on the Safety Team and assist with vehicle incidents, domestic altercations, and other safety-related events.

Administer employee drug tests and evaluations for suspected intoxicants as required.

Perform biohazard disposal duties (e.g., sharps, contaminated materials).

Attend required continuing education and EMS training through Tribal EMS.

Execute all duties of an Emergency First Responder and other assignments as directed by risk management leadership.

Contribute to team initiatives, projects, committees, and safety programs.
Minimum Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED.
-
Valid driver’s license with no more than one DUI or three or more moving violations in the past three years.

EMT certification at the state or National Registry level.

Current CPR/AED certification.

Completion of Security Basic Officer Course (within six months of hire if not already certified).

Preferred: 6–12 months of customer service experience and prior EMT/First Responder experience.
Required Knowledge & Skills:

Ability to read, interpret, and follow SOPs and emergency procedures.

Strong communication skills with guests and colleagues at all levels.
-
Competency in operating radios, computers, and other position-specific equipment.

Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and fire codes preferred.

Observant, detail-oriented, and able to handle bodily fluids safely.

Maintain a professional appearance and excellent personal hygiene.

Commitment to continuing education and certification maintenance.
Physical, Mental & Environmental Requirements:

Lift up to 50 lbs independently, 150 lbs with assistance.

Stand for extended periods and perform physical activities including stooping, bending, kneeling, twisting, and reaching.

Operate effectively under stress and manage mentally and physically challenging situations.

Assist sick or injured guests and staff as needed.
-
Work in environments with varying noise, temperature, lighting, air quality, and crowds.

Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays.
About the Property:
Opened in September 2015, Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel is located roughly an hour west of Harrah’s Cherokee Casino Resort in Murphy, NC, and about two hours from Knoxville, Chattanooga, and Atlanta. The property features a seven-story hotel tower with 300 guest rooms and 27 deluxe rooms. Guests enjoy 70 table games including blackjack, roulette, and craps, along with 1,100 slot machines.
