Position: EMT – Life Flight Network (Waterville)
Role Overview
The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) is responsible for delivering pre-hospital care and transporting both emergency and non-emergency patients. Working within the scope of practice established by state EMS guidelines, the EMT ensures safe patient handling and efficient ambulance operation. Maintaining current certifications and continuing education is an essential part of this role.
Key Responsibilities
- Respond promptly to emergency calls and perform patient evaluations
- Deliver basic airway support and life-saving interventions
- Administer CPR and operate an automated external defibrillator (AED)
- Participate in required training sessions and continuing education programs
- Ensure safe, timely, and appropriate patient transport
- Complete accurate documentation and maintain required reports
- Inspect, maintain, and care for emergency vehicles and equipment
- Protect patient privacy and uphold patient and family rights
- Act as an advocate for patients during care and transport

Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Vocational or technical training (preferred)
Licensure & Certifications
- State-approved EMT-Basic certification (required)
- Valid driver’s license (required)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (required)
- Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) certification within 3 months of hire
Experience
- Minimum of one year of safe driving experience (required)
- 1–3 years of EMT-related experience (preferred)
