Position Summary
This role is responsible for delivering advanced critical care in emergency situations, including patient assessment, triage, and treatment in accordance with BSW EMS Medical Director protocols. The position also supports safe and efficient air transport, ensuring patients are stabilized and transported to the most appropriate facility while maintaining the highest safety standards.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide advanced, life-saving care from initial patient contact through transfer to the receiving facility
- Respond to emergency calls and inter-facility transports requiring critical care support
- Continuously assess patient condition and adjust treatment plans during transport as needed
- Maintain clinical competency through ongoing education and hands-on training
- Work collaboratively as part of an air medical team, delivering care before and during flight operations
- Participate in mission briefings and debriefings to ensure coordinated patient care
- Assist with pre-flight procedures and support the pilot with communication and situational awareness tasks when required
- Conduct routine equipment and aircraft checks to ensure readiness for each mission

- Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Recent experience in critical care or 911 emergency response (within the past five years)
- Previous air medical or flight experience is highly desirable
- Proficiency with computer systems, including electronic medical records and standard office software
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited paramedic or related healthcare program
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant experience in emergency or critical care settings
