Job Summary & Responsibilities

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides basic patient care in accordance with established clinical guidelines. This role delivers Basic Life Support (BLS), including patient assessments, airway and respiratory management, use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs), cardiac emergency response, medication assistance, and trauma care.

In addition to clinical responsibilities, the EMT supports departmental clerical functions as needed. This position requires active participation in advancing the mission, values, and strategic goals of Community Hospital of San Bernardino, with a strong commitment to quality improvement and patient-centered care.


Job Requirements

  • Phlebotomy certification (required)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT I) or Paramedic certification

  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience preferred, ideally in an acute care hospital or emergency department setting

  • One of the following certifications:

    • Basic EMT Certification

    • EMT II – Limited Advanced Life Support Certification

    • Paramedic – Advanced Life Support Certification

  • Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required within 30 days of hire

Pay Range

$30.98 – $38.70 per hour
