Position: Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B)

Overview:
Allegiance Mobile Health is seeking a dedicated and dependable EMT-Basic to deliver critical pre-hospital care and respond to emergency situations. The ideal candidate will assist with patient assessment, perform basic life support, and support safe patient transport. Success in this role requires excellent communication, the ability to stay calm under pressure, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

Compensation:
Starting pay begins at $14/hour, with adjustments based on DSHS certification level and relevant experience. Higher starting pay may apply depending on qualifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Respond to both emergency and non-emergency calls around the clock, operating various emergency vehicles safely in diverse road and weather conditions.
• Navigate efficiently using maps and instructions to reach emergency sites.
• Adhere to all state and local driving laws, organizational policies, and department procedures.
• Use radios, phones, and other communication tools to coordinate with dispatch, EMS teams, first responders, and external agencies.
• Maintain vehicles and equipment, ensuring readiness, cleanliness, and proper function.
• Complete daily checklists, assist with vehicle resupply, and decontaminate equipment as required.
• Report any issues with vehicles, supplies, or equipment promptly and accurately.
• Deliver direct patient care according to Medical Director protocols.
• Demonstrate competency in all patient care tasks, including lifting, carrying, and transporting patients safely.
• Collaborate professionally with police, fire departments, and other first responders.
• Accurately complete patient care reports, billing forms, and other documentation in a timely manner.
• Operate effectively under physically and psychologically demanding conditions, including extreme weather, loud environments, and exposure to hazards.
• Participate in departmental skills evaluations and complete the NEOP process prior to field assignment.
• Follow all company policies and perform additional duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

• Lift, carry, and transport up to 125 pounds (250 pounds with assistance).
• Demonstrate flexibility and coordination: bend, squat, kneel, and climb stairs as required.
• Perform fine motor tasks for clinical skills (IV insertion, intubation, etc.).
• Possess vision sufficient to read street signs, low-light conditions, and small print.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Certified EMT in Texas
• CPR certification
• Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS)
• Effective communication and comprehension of English instructions
• Prior emergency care experience preferred
• Valid Texas driver’s license with insurable driving record
