Role Responsibilities

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) supports emergency department operations by providing patient assessment and basic emergency care for medical, traumatic, and environmental conditions. Working under the guidance of an emergency department nurse, charge nurse, or physician, the EMT assists with patient care activities aligned with individual needs and within the defined scope of practice. This role also contributes to maintaining a safe, organized, and supportive clinical environment.


Required Education, Experience & Training

  • High school diploma or equivalent (or relevant experience for eligible new hires)

  • Completion of EMT training program or prior emergency room experience

  • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) certification at time of hire


Facility-Specific Certification Requirements

(May be required based on departmental standards)

  • ACLS certification within 30 days of hire

  • PALS certification within 30 days of hire

  • Active EMT certification or license issued by the appropriate state authority

Shasta Regional Medical Center provides a competitive pay structure along with a flexible and comprehensive benefits program. Benefit eligibility may vary depending on employment status and collective bargaining agreements.

  • Pay Range: $22.94 – $31.76 per hour

  • Final compensation is determined based on experience, education, credentials, and licensure
