Job Overview

Grifols is seeking a Center Medical Specialist for its plasma donation center in Kansas City, Missouri. This position is open to qualified EMTs, Paramedics, LPNs, and LVNs, with compensation based on licensure and professional experience.

The role focuses on donor assessment, safety, education, medical support, and maintaining a positive donor experience in a professional plasma collection environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical examinations and review medical histories to determine donor eligibility.
• Build positive relationships with donors and provide professional customer service.
• Maintain confidentiality of donor and employee information.
• Educate donors about potential health and safety risks.
• Provide health education and counseling related to unacceptable test results.
• Evaluate and manage donor injuries, adverse reactions, and other medical events.
• Review medical histories, illnesses, and medications to determine continued donor suitability.
• Assist with employee training and clinical education.
• Support the employee Hepatitis vaccination program.
• Follow applicable medical, safety, regulatory, and confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

• Current EMT, Paramedic, LPN, or LVN license/certification applicable to the state of employment.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to communicate effectively with donors, coworkers, and healthcare professionals.
• Ability to work independently while following written and verbal instructions.
• Comfortable working in a plasma donation center and handling sensitive medical information.
• Ability to work around biological fluids and potentially infectious materials.
• Ability to safely perform required physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work around laboratory equipment and plasma freezers, including temperatures below 32°F while using required protective equipment.
