Job Overview

Adena Health is seeking a qualified Paramedic, Advanced EMT, or EMT to join its EMS team in Chillicothe, Ohio. This variable casual position provides emergency medical care and patient transportation while maintaining high standards of safety, clinical practice, and compassionate service.

The successful candidate will assess and treat patients, provide emergency medical interventions within their scope of practice, and safely transport patients to or from medical facilities and residences.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency medical care in accordance with Adena Health System policies, procedures, and approved scope of practice.
• Assess patient conditions and determine appropriate treatment and transportation needs.
• Deliver emergency medical interventions and monitor patient responses during care and transport.
• Safely transport patients between residences, medical facilities, and other designated locations.
• Maintain compliance with EMS treatment protocols, safety requirements, and clinical standards.
• Operate ambulances safely and responsibly while responding to emergency and transportation needs.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, healthcare professionals, EMS personnel, and other members of the care team.
• Maintain accurate patient care documentation and required EMS records.
• Represent Adena Health professionally while interacting with patients and the community.
• Work effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining patient safety, dignity, and quality of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned under the supervision of the EMS Manager.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Current Ohio EMT-Paramedic certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license.
• At least 1 year of healthcare experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• NREMT Paramedic certification.
• EVOC certification.
• NRP certification.
• At least 2 years of private EMS or emergency 911 medical services experience.
