PRN EMT-Basic Position – Quad Cities

Join the team at Advanced Medical Transport (AMT) and help deliver high-quality emergency and non-emergency ambulance services across Central and Western Illinois and parts of Iowa. AMT is a community-focused, not-for-profit organization dedicated to providing reliable patient care and transportation services.

We are currently seeking PRN EMT-Basic professionals to support operations in the Quad Cities region, with primary assignment based out of Milan. EMTs will respond to emergency calls, assist with patient transfers between facilities, and support medical standby events.

PRN staff are required to maintain availability of at least one 12-hour shift every two weeks or a minimum of 24 hours per month to remain active in the position.


Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients to determine appropriate medical care needs

  • Provide basic emergency medical treatment using approved tools and procedures

  • Accurately record patient conditions, care provided, and transport details

  • Respect patient rights and maintain strict confidentiality at all times

  • Safely transport patients following established protocols and regulations

  • Keep ambulances clean, organized, and fully stocked according to checklists

  • Operate emergency vehicles in compliance with safety laws and guidelines

  • Support paramedics during advanced life support interventions

  • Maintain required certifications and continuing education standards

  • Present a professional attitude and uphold a positive organizational image


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Active EMT-B certification in Illinois

  • Current American Heart Association BLS CPR certification

  • Valid Illinois driver’s license

  • At least 1 year of EMS or emergency care experience preferred

  • Ability to lift and move up to 100 lbs as required by the role

  • Strong ability to follow instructions and apply clinical procedures correctly

  • Good decision-making skills in high-pressure environments
