Position Summary
Metro Paramedic Services is preparing for a future opening on our New Lenox contract and is seeking a full-time EMT/Firefighter to join our team. This role focuses on delivering emergency medical care and patient transport at the EMT-B level, strictly within the scope of practice defined by the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) and the Illinois EMS Commission.
Starting base salary for this position is $62,067 annually.
Key Responsibilities

Provide emergency medical treatment and patient transport in accordance with state and local protocols

Operate as part of a coordinated EMS and fire response team

Deliver patient care with professionalism, empathy, and attention to safety

Maintain compliance with all operational, medical, and documentation standards
Required Qualifications

Active Illinois EMT license
-
Firefighter II or Basic Operations Firefighter certification

Minimum of one (1) year relevant experience

CPR certification

Must be at least 21 years of age

Valid Illinois driver’s license

Willingness to begin Paramedic school within two (2) years of hire

ACLS and PALS certification (training provided by Metro if needed)

Successful completion of pre-employment physical exam, drug screening, and background check
