WCA is currently seeking a motivated and personable Hyperbaric Technician (EMT or CMA) to support the USC Verdugo Hills Hospital Wound Care Program. Position Overview

Under the direction of the Wound Care Program Director, the EMT/CMA supports daily clinic operations by coordinating patient flow, managing schedules, assisting with authorizations, and maintaining efficient workflow. This role also includes specialized training to function as a Hyperbaric Technician, ensuring safe and compliant hyperbaric oxygen therapy operations.

The Hyperbaric Technician works closely with physicians, leadership, and the Safety Director to uphold all safety standards, assist with patient care coordination, and support operational procedures related to hyperbaric chamber use and maintenance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Request and gather external medical records as needed

  • Digitize and upload documentation into clinic and hospital systems

  • Coordinate patient check-ins and communicate wait times or delays

  • Prepare exam rooms prior to clinic hours

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of patient care areas

  • Assist patients with transfers on and off exam tables

  • Support patients with personal hygiene needs when required

  • Record vital signs accurately and report abnormal findings

  • Assist with specimen transport and routine patient care tasks

  • Notify clinical leadership of any changes in patient condition

  • Perform additional duties as assigned


Training & Certification

  • Completion of a 1-week Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBO) training course shortly after hire (fully sponsored by WCA)

  • After approximately 480 hours (6 months) of hyperbaric chamber experience, pursuit of Certified Hyperbaric Technologist (CHT) credential is required

  • WCA covers all certification-related costs

Required Qualifications

  • Active CMA or EMT certification

  • Current BLS Provider certification

  • Compliance with COVID-19 vaccination requirements per federal and state guidelines

  • Familiarity with medical office systems and clinical workflows
