Job Description

John Carroll Area Ambulance Service (JCAAS) is looking for a dedicated EMT to join our full-time team. This role provides both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) services to the local community and surrounding areas.

Requirements

Candidates must meet the following criteria to be considered:

  1. High school diploma or GED.

  2. Current Pennsylvania EMT certification in good standing (not suspended).

  3. Current CPR certification.

  4. Valid, unrestricted Pennsylvania driver’s license.

  5. Completion of an Emergency Vehicle Operators Course (EVOC) approved by the PA Department of Health.

  6. Successful completion of a post-employment physical examination.

  7. Demonstrated compassion, professionalism, and a willingness to assist patients with various medical conditions.

  8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  9. Maintain a professional appearance and adhere to workplace conduct standards.

  10. Corrected or uncorrected vision of 20/20 in both eyes.

  11. Hearing adequate for auscultating patient vitals and operating communication equipment.

Employment Conditions

  • Full-time status, working a minimum of 40 hours per week.

  • Completion of a 90-day probationary period is required.

JCAAS provides 24/7 emergency medical services across Carrolltown Borough, East and West Carroll Townships, and Allegheny Township. Our team of EMTs and Paramedics delivers high-quality patient care, transporting patients to the facility of their choice or the nearest appropriate location in urgent situations.

In addition to our primary service areas, we respond to mutual aid requests from neighboring counties, including Cambria, Blair, Clearfield, and Indiana, ensuring our communities have reliable, professional medical transport whenever needed.
