Position Overview
Cortlandt-Peekskill RPS, Inc. is seeking skilled and compassionate Paramedics to join our dedicated team, providing high-quality pre-hospital care to the Hudson Valley community. We are looking for individuals who are enthusiastic, patient-focused, and committed to teamwork in emergency medical services.
Key Responsibilities

Respond promptly to emergency and non-emergency calls, providing both Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) care.

Assess the severity of injuries or illnesses, prioritize treatment, and determine necessary interventions on scene and during transport.

Administer medications, perform IV insertions, advanced airway management, defibrillation, cardiac monitoring, and other lifesaving procedures per agency protocols and medical control direction.

Assist and coordinate with other first responders, ensuring efficient patient care and transport.

Maintain and operate emergency vehicles safely, adhering to traffic laws and organizational policies.

Inspect and maintain ALS equipment, medications, and medical supplies, ensuring readiness and compliance with regulatory standards.

Document patient care and treatment accurately in electronic patient care records.

Communicate clearly with healthcare providers, hospital staff, and fellow EMS personnel.

Participate in ongoing training, continuing education, and quarterly meetings to maintain certifications and stay updated on protocols.

Promote a culture of safety, teamwork, and professionalism in all interactions.
Required Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Current NYS EMT-Paramedic (AEMT-P) certification issued by the New York State Department of Health, Bureau of EMS.

Valid New York State driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS certifications.

Successful completion of a DOT drug screen.
Preferred Qualifications

Westchester REMAC certification.

At least one year of ALS experience.

Experience with ALS First Response Vehicles (ALSFRV).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Mastery of NYS DOH Paramedic-level procedures.

Ability to provide advanced life support, trauma care, and resuscitation.

Proficient in managing patient monitoring devices, ventilators, and other emergency equipment.

Strong decision-making and critical thinking skills in high-pressure situations.

Effective communication, empathy, and teamwork abilities.

Technologically competent, including patient charting software, word processing, spreadsheets, and email.

Physically fit and capable of lifting and transporting patients as required.
