Hours: 06:30 – 19:00 / 18:30 – 07:00

Position Summary:
This role involves safely operating an ambulance to emergency and non-emergency scenes while delivering Basic Life Support (BLS) care to patients who are critically ill or injured. The EMT will provide assessment, treatment, and stabilization in the pre-hospital setting. A thorough understanding of the equipment and supplies on an Advanced Life Support (ALS) ambulance is required to assist paramedics in a variety of emergency situations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive the ambulance safely to and from assigned emergency and non-emergency calls.

  • Perform medical evaluations, basic treatments, and stabilize patients as needed.

  • Support paramedics by effectively utilizing all ALS equipment and supplies.

  • Maintain readiness of ambulance and medical equipment to ensure quick response.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED required.

  • Completion of an accredited EMT program.

  • Licensed by the State of Arkansas as an EMT; National Registry certification preferred.

  • Current American Heart Association Health Care Provider (CPR) certification required.

  • Completion of Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) training within the first year of employment.

  • Valid Arkansas driver’s license and meet all Baptist Health auto insurance requirements.

  • Must be at least 21 years old.

Additional Information:
This PRN position is authorized for 0.80 hours bi-weekly. Ongoing employment requires maintenance of all state licenses and certifications.
